This is nice. “Keys N Krates” is the band of Canadien DJ JR Flo, of the “EH! Team”, Matisse (Keys) and Adam Tune (drums), who just dropped their first mixtape // Live-Remixing 101, a journey through the history of hiphop and dance music. The cool thing about it is that various classics get ripped apart, chopped up and then rebuild in real time which makes this tape stand out. There is no track list but the tape hosts names such as Mos Def, ATCQ, Fugees, Simian Mobile Disco and Justice just to name a few… It’s good party stuff – just give it a run!

Amazing Vinyl only Mix by DJ AM from 2002 over at “Mike B vs Dickie G” – YOU NEED THIS! Really. I`m drooling over here with one crying eye (only 25min deep in the mix) so get on the DL now.
This mix was hugely inspirational for me and basically changed my whole approach to commercial club gigs. Just listening to it made me a better DJ. Hope it works for y’all too.

The people who knew him well have spoken (1,2), ima keep quiet (what the fuck would i say anyways?), just enjoy the mixes for now and try hard to play better, period. The main effect his passing had on me (at least) is that i realized how much i suck at DJ`ing and that there really aren`t any boundaries when it comes to mixing. Damn.

Just In! New Mixtape by our friends from Skip Intro holding it down in Amsterdam, lots of Dubstep + related great stuff with an emphasis on bass and general rattle pon di floor. A PITY this kind of music does not really work in Cologne the way it does in other cities. Well, maybe in two years…
