Quiet Storm | DJ Anonymous

If you love timeless house music this is for you!

Once again DJ Anonymous delivers an on point mix, filled with deep house milestones of the late-80’s and early-90’s. Really, I can’t say how appreciative I am that guys like DJ Anonymous continuously supply us with these great tapes, especially in times when mixtapes seem to be a dime a dozen. This guy is one of the reasons I fell in love with those house and disco sounds and I can’t tell how thankful I am for – Suomi Love!

TRAX Records | 25th Anniversary Mix

Although believed to be dead by many, after 25 years Trax Records is still riding the rhythm and anxious to reclaim the glory of the past. URB Magazine is celebrating the labels anniversary with a very nice mix that highlights some of the labels best moments, including tracks by Jamie Principle, Frankie Knuckles, Larry Heard and many others. If Chicago House is on your menu, you will enjoy this little trip into the heydays of house…

Storm Queen I Morgan Geist

Definitely a breath of fresh air and a step into an awesome direction! Admittedly, if it wasn’t for Phonica I wouldn’t know much about this new project. Nevertheless, everything I just learned sounds great. With Storm Queen Morgan Geist reverts to the analog approaches towards recording house music with a disco pedigree. Apparently, this project is mainly  inspired by classic house music from New York, Chicago and Detroit. Love that! The best part about it though, the physical releases will be put out on limited edition 12″ vinyl-singles only, which is something I fully endorse.
